Chocolate Mousse |
Ingredients
½ cup dark chocolate, grated
(plus 2 tbsp grated chocolate for garnishing)
2 tbsp cocoa powder
3 eggs
2 cups whole milk
½ tsp vanilla essence
2 tsp unflavored gelatin
16 tsp granulated sugar
whipped cream for decoration
Directions
Break eggs into a bowl and whisk
well. Add milk and sugar and mix. Cook in a double boiler till the mixture
thickens and coats the back of a spoon. When the egg mixture thickens, add
vanilla essence and mix. Dissolve gelatin in about 2 tbsp of warm water. Add
gelatin, cocoa powder and dark grated chocolate to the egg mixture and mix well.
Strain the mixture into a bowl and set aside to cool. Pour into 4 or six individual
bowls and refrigerate for 4-5 hours or until set. To serve: garnish with
whipped cream and the remaining grated chocolate.
