Welcome to my food blog!
I'm a true foodie at heart. After spending almost two decades living in Dubai, UAE, I now call Spain home, where my love for cooking and exploring new cuisines continues to grow.
My passion for food began in childhood, inspired by the incredible women in my family. I have fond memories of watching my grandmother and aunts prepare traditional home-cooked meals using simple, fresh ingredients. My grandmother was an exceptional cook who believed that every memorable meal started with careful planning and the freshest produce from the local market. Whether she was cooking for a handful of guests or preparing an elaborate pre-wedding feast, every dish was made with love, patience and pride.
Coming from a large family, the kitchen was always the heart of our home. The women would gather together, cooking and singing their favourite songs while sharing stories and laughter. Family celebrations were never complete without East Indian favourites such as Vindaloo, Sorpotel and succulent pork roasts. On weekend mornings, I would wake up to the irresistible aromas drifting from the kitchen and eagerly watch my mother cook, often trying to recreate her recipes myself.
Cooking has remained one of my greatest passions and, over the years, it has also become my therapy. It is where I find joy, creativity and comfort.
Moving to Dubai opened up an exciting new culinary world. Its multicultural community introduced me to flavours and cuisines from every corner of the globe, inspiring me to experiment with new ingredients, cooking techniques and recipes. As a working mother of two wonderful daughters, I often found myself planning dinner on my drive home from work. Weekends became family cooking days, with my husband, daughters and I gathering in the kitchen to prepare meals together. It wasn't always organised—in fact, it was often wonderfully chaotic—but those moments created some of our happiest family memories.
Today, I remain fascinated by every aspect of cooking—from sourcing fresh ingredients and discovering regional specialities to learning new techniques and recreating traditional recipes. On this blog, you'll find a collection of recipes that reflect my everyday life: treasured family favourites passed down through generations, recipes shared by relatives and friends, dishes inspired by my travels, creations of my own, and classics adapted from cookbooks with my own personal twist.
My aim is to keep every recipe approachable, using ingredients that are easy to find and methods that anyone can follow, whether you're an experienced cook or just beginning your culinary journey.
I hope these recipes bring as much joy to your kitchen as they have brought to mine. Thank you for joining me on this delicious adventure, and I hope you'll discover new favourites to share with your own family and friends.
Happy cooking!
